Carrier Exchange Program - Checklist

  • CEP number must be painted or chalked on exchanged carrier(s) to properly identify return carrier(s).
  • CEP number must appear on the freight bill.
  • You will be invoiced at 50% of list price for those new carriers unless the exchange units are returned to Cummins within 30 days.
  • It is the dealer’s responsibility to double check ratios are correct BEFORE installation. Cummins will not be responsible for incorrect or mis-matched ratios installed ( ratio = # teeth - ring gear / # teeth – pinion)
  • The carrier must be packaged to protect it from the elements.
  • Unit must be drained of oil
  • Any damage to exchanged carrier(s) upon receipt will result in invoicing.

  • Examples of damage:

  • Rust
  • Removal of components
  • Excess miles
  • Physical damage

NOTE: Rust will damage the bearings and gearing.
